Por Orlando BarrozoComo acontece todos os anos, a Academia de Artes e Ciências de Televisão apresentou na semana passada a lista dos indicados ao Emmy, o chamado “Oscar da TV”, com as melhores produções exibidas ao longo da última temporada. São considerados programas exibidos nos EUA no período de 01 de Junho de 2015 a 31 de Maio de 2016. Muitos deles já são exibidos também no Brasil. A cerimônia de entrega dos troféus está marcada para 18 de Setembro, no Microsoft Theater, em Los Angeles.
Esta premiação inclui somente atores, atrizes, diretores e roteiristas, além de apontar as melhores produções em seis categorias: Série Cômica, Série Dramática, Série de Variedades (Variety Sketches), Programa de Entrevistas (talk-show), Reality Show e Minisséries (Limited Series).
Uma semana antes, nos dias 10 e 11 de Setembro, a Academia apresenta os ganhadores do Primetime Creative Arts Emmy, um prêmio de caráter mais técnico, incluindo categorias como trilha sonora, efeitos especiais, edição, iluminação e maquiagem.
No Emmy 2016, o grande destaque é a minissérie American Crime Story: The People vs. O.J.Simpson, do canal FX, que retoma um dos casos mais polêmicos do país até hoje: o julgamento de Simpson, ídolo do futebol americano que, nos anos 1990, foi acusado de assassinar sua esposa e um amigo. O caso já foi tema de inúmeros especiais de TV, mas o êxito da nova minissérie está superando todas as expectativas. Condenado a 30 anos, Simpson – que após encerrar a carreira no esporte tornou-se ator em Hollywood (na série, é interpretado por Cuba Gooding Jr.) – permanece preso até hoje, aos 69 anos.
A minissérie do FX recebeu 13 indicações para o Emmy, enquantoVeep, da HBO, estrelada por Julia Louis-Dreyfus, concorre a 10 prêmios Emmy (a atriz, que ganhou o troféu nas últimas três temporadas, está de novo no páreo). Entre as produções com maior número de indicações este ano, destacam-se Game of Thrones (9),Fargo (8), The Night Manager e Silicon Valley (6) e Transparent(5).
Com 35 indicações, o canal HBO lidera o Emmy 2016, seguido por FX (28), Netflix (14), ABC (12), AMC (9), Comedy Central, NBC e Showtime (8 cada), Amazon (6), CBS e PBS (5 cada), Fox, IFC, Lifetime e USA Network (3 cada), BBC America (2), Bravo, Cinemax, Crackle, History e TBS (1 cada).
Muitas das produções indicadas ao Emmy 2016 ainda estão inéditas nos canais brasileiros. Netflix, Amazon e Crackle são serviços de streaming pela internet.
